Skybox and Prologis File Plans for Largest-Yet Data Center in Hutto, Texas
US data center firm Skybox and real estate firm Prologis have filed an application with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Skybox Hutto 4, a fourth data center in Hutto, Texas, in the wider Austin area.
Fourth building proposed at the Hutto campus
The filing was made this week, according to reporting by Data Center Dynamics published October 2, 2026. The building will be located at 3399 County Road 132 in Hutto, Williamson County, and is described as a single-story core-and-shell building with future use as a data center.
At 846,300 sq ft (78,625 sqm), it is set to be the largest facility yet at the campus, and larger than any of the other three buildings already planned there. Construction is scheduled to run from January 2027 to October 2028, with Skybox set to invest USD 550 million in the project.
The site owner is listed as Hutto Data Center Campus, LLC, an affiliate that shares an address with Prologis, a known partner of Skybox.
A growing campus near Austin
Hutto is located around 28 miles (45km) northeast of Austin. Skybox first filed plans for Hutto 1 at 4200 County Road 132 in October 2023. Plans for Hutto 2 were filed in April 2024, and plans for Hutto 3 followed in May 2024.
The first two buildings are both listed at 235,720 sq ft (21,900 sqm), while the third is listed at 492,350 sq ft (45,740 sqm).
Unlike the new fourth building, which is planned as a single story, the existing buildings are set to span two stories. The site is part of the Skybox and Prologis PowerCampus, which is planned to offer 600MW of IT capacity across 3.88 million sq ft.
The Skybox–Prologis partnership
Skybox first partnered with Prologis in early 2021, when the two companies filed to convert an empty warehouse owned by the real estate firm in Chicago, Illinois, into a data center.
The companies are working together on multiple other projects. Skybox has projects in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Wichita Falls in Texas.
Beyond Skybox, Iron Mountain and Colovore are also developing sites in Hutto.
