ChatGPT plugin and MCP server
Our public, read-only MCP server lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude answer questions with live US data center statistics and news from this site. It needs no account or sign-in.
- Server URL:
https://usdatacenterprojects.com/mcp - What it can answer: national totals, figures and rankings for any US state (projects, planned MW capacity, announced investment, development stage), companies with the most upcoming projects, and the latest data center news.
- What it does not include: project-level records such as project names, owners and contacts. Those are available in the US Data Center Project Tracker.
- Data freshness: answers are fetched live, so they match the figures on our US data center map.
Adding it to an AI assistant
- ChatGPT: add a custom MCP server with the URL above and choose No authentication.
- Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste the URL above.
Common questions
The assistant says it cannot reach the server. Try again after a minute. Requests are rate limited per connection to keep the service available for everyone.
A figure looks different from the website. Figures update daily. If a number still looks wrong, email us the state and metric and we will check it.
Privacy. The server receives only the request needed to answer your question, never your chat history or account details. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
