Rowan Digital Infrastructure has submitted a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a second building at its Bob White Road campus in Temple, Texas, a USD 780 million project that will add 500,000 square feet of space to the growing facility in Bell County.

Project Scope and Timeline

The planned structure, designated AUS02 Building 2 and located at 1855 Bob White Road, will be a single-story building spanning 500,000 square feet, or approximately 46,451 square meters.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026 and run through August 2027, meaning the facility is expected to come online next year.

The filing marks a rapid expansion of Rowan's activity at the Bob White Road site. The company broke ground on the campus in January 2026, with the first building also due to go live next year. At full build-out, the 700-acre campus could reach a capacity of 300 megawatts.

Rowan's Presence in Temple

The Bob White Road campus represents Rowan's second footprint in Temple, though the company's history in the city has not been without complication.

Rowan first announced a Temple project in 2021 and completed the Moriah Data Center, located at 2810 Bob White Road in the city's Synergy Park, in 2023.

However, the tenant vacated that property in 2024, and Rowan is now set to repurpose the Moriah site as a warehouse.

Recently, Rowan Digital Infrastructure closed nearly USD 3 billion in green financing for Texas Data Center Campus.

The new Bob White Road campus is a separate and considerably larger undertaking, with the 700-acre site and its 300-megawatt potential build-out representing a significant escalation in the company's Texas ambitions compared to its earlier Moriah project.

Company Background and Investor Backing

Rowan Digital Infrastructure was established in 2021 by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Birch Infrastructure.

The company was formerly known as Rowan Green Data before adopting its current name. Beyond Texas, Rowan is developing data centers in Maryland and Oregon and maintains additional Texas operations near San Antonio.

Earlier this year, Blackstone acquired a significant minority stake in the firm, adding a major institutional investor to Rowan's capital structure as the company pursues its multi-state expansion strategy.

Texas Data Center Market Context

The Temple filing reflects continued momentum in Texas as a destination for large-scale data center investment.

Bell County, where the Bob White Road campus is situated, sits within a broader regional landscape that has attracted significant infrastructure development as demand for compute capacity tied to artificial intelligence and cloud services continues to grow across the United States.

Rowan's decision to press forward with a second building at the Bob White Road campus before the first building is even complete underscores the pace at which the company is moving to scale its Texas operations.

The USD 780 million price tag for the second building alone signals the magnitude of capital being deployed at the site.
