South Korean power equipment maker LS ELECTRIC has won a USD 165.72 million contract to supply power infrastructure for an artificial intelligence data center operated by a North American Big Tech company, more than doubling the value of an agreement it signed with the same customer just months earlier.

A Rapidly Expanding Order

LS ELECTRIC announced on August 24 that it had secured the contract to supply power equipment for the AI data center.

The deal represents a significant expansion of an earlier agreement the company reached in June with the same unnamed North American Big Tech customer.

That initial contract, signed on June 8, was valued at USD 70.43 million, equivalent to approximately. Under that agreement, LS ELECTRIC was engaged to supply a 38-kilovolt high-voltage distribution system.

The latest contract value reflects growth from that baseline after the customer chose to expand the order volume, with the total now standing at more than double the original figure.

The contract period runs from June 8 through January 30, 2027, indicating that the expanded scope of work will carry the project well into the following year.

North American Manufacturing Capacity at the Center of the Strategy

LS ELECTRIC has positioned its existing North American production infrastructure as a key enabler of its ability to fulfill large-scale power equipment orders for AI data center clients in the region.

The company operates two facilities in the United States: LS ELECTRIC Utah, located in the state of Utah, and the Bastrop Campus in Texas.

The company has been using these local manufacturing facilities to expand its supply capabilities for AI data center power equipment across North America.

The presence of domestic U.S. production sites gives LS ELECTRIC a logistical and commercial advantage as demand for data center infrastructure continues to grow among major technology companies investing heavily in AI capabilities.

Growing Demand for High-Voltage Power Infrastructure
