Data center developer Edged has completed structural work on the first building at its Council Bluffs, Iowa campus, marking a key construction milestone for the project known internally as Project Lola.

Topping Out in the Midwest

The company announced that it has topped out the first of two buildings at its Council Bluffs facility, with the second structure on track to reach the same milestone in September.

The announcement was made via LinkedIn, where Edged described the development as "a significant step in our growth in the Omaha–Council Bluffs market, and a reflection of our commitment to bringing large-scale, AI-ready infrastructure to the heart of the Midwest."

Turner Construction is serving as the general contractor on the project. Edged broke ground at the Council Bluffs site in October 2025, meaning the first building reached its structural topping out in roughly eight months.

Scale and Scope of Project Lola

The campus consists of two buildings, each spanning approximately 285,445 square feet, or around 26,520 square meters.

The site is located at the intersection of College Road and East Kanesville Boulevard in Council Bluffs, and the total campus is reported to reach around 200 megawatts of capacity once complete.

Council Bluffs sits on Iowa's western border, adjacent to Omaha, Nebraska, placing the facility within an established technology corridor.

The land on which the campus is being built had previously been approved for a logistics park in 2021, but remained undeveloped until Edged moved forward with its data center plans.

Edged, formerly known as Edged Energy, operates as part of Endeavour, a company established by Jakob Carnemark, who also founded Aligned.

The Council Bluffs project is one of several developments Edged is pursuing across the United States and Europe.

In the US, the company has data centers either operating or in development in Missouri, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio, and Illinois.

The Iowa presence extends beyond Council Bluffs, with Edged also developing a separate campus outside Des Moines. Internationally, the company has facilities in Bilbao, Madrid, and Barcelona in Spain, as well as in Lisbon, Portugal.
